Side x Side presented artworks by students from Fremantle’s John Curtin College of the Arts, alongside those works from the City’s Collection that inspired them.

John Curtin’s senior students responded to a previous exhibition Not Dead, a selection of still lives from the City’s Collection.

Side x Side marked a milestone in a successful six year partnership between the City of Fremantle Art Collection and John Curtin, through a program of tutorials, exhibitions on campus and class visits to FAC.

Through this project students were exposed to examples of artworks by Western Australian artists, making the experience and enjoyment of visual arts all the more engaging and relevant.
