This exhibition featured artist books from the City of Fremantle’s Art Collection in an installation by Rebecca Baumann.

Baumann’s practice has explored the role of happiness and celebration, as against anxiety and doubt, in the assessment of our lives. She worked with bookmaking, sculpture and installation to create spectacles for her audience to interact within.

For From the Beginning: one more time Baumann turned her specific attention to the book as a means of expression. The book is public in it’s intent to communicate, yet private in its relationship between itself and it’s reader. This exhibition looked upon the language of the book and manipulation of the book as object.
