Think jaunty crowds in packed rooms. Think pilgrimages through rain-soaked streets. Think the thrill of discovering your next favorite band in the most unexpected corner of town.

For 14 years, Hidden Treasures has been the beating heart of Fremantle’s music scene. This exhibition invites you to relive the moments that have defined Fremantle’s iconic winter music festival – a journey through old posters and the lens of local photographers who captured the performances, the audiences, and the glow of fires lighting the way between tucked-away venues.

Freo has long been a cradle for musical talent, with institutions like John Curtin College of the Arts, Fremantle College, and Hilton Primary School fostering creativity from a young age. For many local musicians, Hidden Treasures has been more than a festival – it’s served as a rite of passage. At this exhibition, discover the alumnus of Future Treasures, a dedicated show for local musical prodigies take the stage to showcase their craft and the fruits of their labour.

Whether you’re reminiscing about baby San Cisco, the first time you saw Mongeeya, or your favorite late-night set at The Buffalo Club, Hidden Treasures: 14 Years of Live Music in Freo is a celebration of the sounds and stories that make Fremantle the home of WA music.
