Love your pets and want to make them something special? In this fun, hands-on jewellery workshop, you’ll design and craft your own custom pet tag using copper while learning a range of jewellery making and sandcasting techniques.

Students will impress their chosen template into the sand before the casting process. Once cast, the lettering and pattern stamps are hammered onto the surface. You’ll refine your piece by cutting, filing, sanding, and assembling your finished tag ready to attach to your furry friend.

Whether its playful, quirky or heartfelt, you’ll leave with a beautifully handcrafted keepsake that’s unique as your pet.

Our jewellery tutor, Alida, will guide you step by step, so no experience is needed, just bring your creativity and love for animals!

Alida Cappelletta

Alida Cappelletta is a contemporary jeweller and ceramic artists based in Perth. She holds a degree in Jewellery and Metal from Sydney College of the Arts and later expanded her skills with further study in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT. Her creative journey began with a background in painting at Curtin University, which continues to inform her distinctive visual style.

Alida has been tutoring jewellery-making for over 15 years and continues to enjoy the dynamic exchange that teaching brings. She values the opportunity to pass on skills while also finding inspiration in her students’ creativity and fresh perspectives.

Inspired by texture, form and the rhythm of making by hand. Her work explores the contrast between rustic surfaces and structured forms, resulting in tactile, wearable and functional pieces. Her practice is rooted in a curiosity for process and materials, often leading her to experiment with new techniques to develop contemporary, wearable pieces.

Alongside her jewellery practice, Alida also creates functional ceramics, through hand building techniques. These raw, tactile forms carry the subtle imprint of the maker and reflect her ongoing interest in the beauty of the handmade. She has conducted numerous hand building clay workshops, where she shares her approach to working with clay and encourages others to discover the quiet satisfaction of shaping forms by hand.
