About this Class
Discover the magic of cyanotype in this beginner-friendly one-day workshop with artist Odile Bell. One of the oldest photographic printing techniques, cyanotype uses sunlight or UV light to create striking blue-toned images.
You’ll be guided step by step through preparing photosensitive paper, arranging botanicals, found objects, or transparencies, and exposing your designs. After rinsing and drying, your unique Prussian blue prints will be revealed, no camera required.
Throughout the day, you’ll experiment with composition and layering to create a series of works, with the option to explore shifting the blue tones using tannins if time allows.
You’ll take home your finished prints on a variety of paper sizes, along with any unused materials to continue experimenting.
Perfect for beginners, this relaxed and hands-on workshop offers an accessible introduction to this distinctive process.
Building Accessibility
Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
We acknowledge these limitations and are committed to improving accessibility where possible. We continue to explore ways to make our programs more inclusive and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.
